Developed by [SevenCapital](https://sevencapital.com/), the scheme was designed around the changing needs of modern residents, combining high-quality apartments with a range of exclusive amenities. These include a residents-only gym, co-working space, garden room, treatment rooms and the Lexicon Club, providing residents with flexible spaces for work, relaxation and socialising. Located just a five-minute walk from Bracknell train station and close to The Lexicon shopping centre, The Grand Exchange forms part of the wider regeneration of Bracknell and provides a contemporary residential offering within the London commuter belt. The development was completed in June 2021, on schedule and within budget. SBS Cladding supplied [Rockpanel](https://www.sbscladding.com/mineral-fibre-cladding/rockpanel) Woods for the façade, working alongside project manager Zeke Powell from [Stoneguard](https://www.stoneguard.co.uk/), who were appointed as the specialist sub-contractor. **Concept** A key feature of The Grand Exchange is its distinctive external façade, with Rockpanel Woods used to introduce the warm, natural appearance of timber to the development. Rockpanel Woods is manufactured from basalt-based mineral fibre and combines the visual character of natural wood with the durability, stability and fire resilience of stone. The boards are designed to provide an authentic wood appearance while offering a low-maintenance alternative to traditional timber cladding. For The Grand Exchange, the timber-effect finish helps add warmth and texture to the residential façade, creating contrast against the surrounding materials and contributing to the development's distinctive architectural identity. Rockpanel Woods is also available with a ProtectPlus finish, providing an additional clear coating that makes the boards easy to clean and resistant to graffiti. The development was already more than 75% sold prior to completion, reflecting the demand for its combination of high-quality apartments, amenities and central Bracknell location. The Rockpanel Woods façade contributes to the distinctive appearance of the completed development, demonstrating how timber-effect mineral fibre cladding can bring warmth and visual character to a residential scheme while providing the durability, low maintenance and fire performance required from a modern façade system.
